In the wake of the tragic San Bernardino attacks, many American Muslims have been the targets of hate crimes and hate speech. While some presidential candidates and public officials have exploited a climate of fear and engaged in hateful rhetoric, Representative Beyer (D-VA-8) introduced House Resolution 569 to condemn the violence, bigotry, and hateful rhetoric towards Muslims in the United States.

In the wake of the tragic San Bernardino attacks, many American Muslims have been the targets of hate crimes and hate speech. While some presidential candidates and public officials have exploited a climate of fear and engaged in hateful rhetoric, Representative Beyer (D-VA-8) introduced House Resolution 569 to condemn the violence, bigotry, and hateful rhetoric towards Muslims in the United States.   

Representative Beyer has been joined by over 100 colleagues in the House of Representatives who co-sponsor the Resolution to express their condolences for victims of hate crimes, confirm their dedication  to the rights and dignity of all Americans, and denounce “in the strongest terms” the increase of hate speech against Muslims, or those perceived to be Muslim.
